El estado más pequeño en extensión territorial y ubicado en el centro de la República Mexicana, guarda en sus entrañas una historia milenaria y una riqueza cultural que cautiva a quienes la visitan.

Historia en cada rincón

Cacaxtla-Xochitécatl, Ocotelulco, Tecoaque, Tepectipac y Tizatlán son testigos de una avanzada civilización prehispánica que floreció en la región. Los basamentos, palacios y plazas de estas ciudades transportan al visitante a un pasado lleno de misterios y esplendor.

Encuentro de dos culturas

La influencia española también dejó una profunda huella en Tlaxcala. Los conventos, iglesias y haciendas coloniales que se encuentran en todo el estado son un reflejo de este sincretismo cultural.

La capital, Tlaxcala de Xicohténcatl, es un ejemplo de esta fusión de estilos arquitectónicos, con sus calles empedradas, casas coloniales y la majestuosa Catedral de Nuestra Señora de la Asunción construida en el siglo XVI entre los años 1530 y 1536.
